Le Markstein Grand Ballon features all kinds of trails, extending over some 40 km between open spaces and forests, and at altitudes of more than 1,000 m. This Nordic ski area lies between the Grand Ballon and Le Markstein downhill ski areas with a section that extends as far as Breitfirst. Don't miss the Nordic park, in the middle of the resort, and for those days when you want to rest but still keep active, you've got the snowshoe trails!

There are 30 km of marked skating and classic cross-country ski trails, setting off from the resort's Nordic chalet, connecting with other ski areas, including: la Bresse and the Col de Grosse Pierre with its cross-country ski trails. Gérardmer Nordic ski area also features a Nordic ski arena and several loops that are perfect for beginners! If you are holidaying with young children you can rent a pulk and tow them behind you. It's a great way to enjoy the beauty of the Vosges mountains with all the family!

Although its name suggests heat, the Champ du Feu is one of the largest Nordic ski areas in the north of the Vosges mountain range! It boasts 90 km of well-secured, marked runs, suitable for all levels. The Champ du Feu trail which is 18 km long, is for the more experienced skier. You can even enjoy an excursion with your furry friends on the 2 animal-friendly slopes.
